OUR LAUGHING MATTERS

Writers At Work

This year we are once again conducting comedy writing workshops after school for Comedy Club members.  As with the Comedy Club, anyone in the school can join.  Several students are now working on new comedy sketches during writers' workshop sessions.  Pictured here are thee of the guys who attended a work session mid November.

These students are creating sketches that lampoon the video game Halo and the TV show, "Heroes" -- when they are not clowning around.  The results will be seen at the Lee Comedy Club show May 1 and 2, 2008.

DIRECTORS' BLOG:
Other students - they missed that Nov. workshop pictured - are creating comic parodies loosely based on "High Scool Musical," "Hanna Montana" and a couple other TV shows.  Personally, I am writing a movie parody that combines elements of "The Italian Job," "National Treasure," and The DaVinci Code."The guys in the pictures above helped me figure out how to create a Mini Cooper chase scene on stage.  Now all I have to do is finsih writing the scenes.  Oh yeah ... a spin-off of our converstaion was the creation of a "smart car" ... a car that talks back to the owner.  I guess it's gonna be a cross between "My Mother The Car," "Knight Rider" and Don Rickles.  More to come in later reports.  H.
